I've Got The Hang Of It!!

It's so easy!! Grown up Lucy (homeschooling mum around the corner who lives with 0 clutter)has been telling me it's that easy but I didn't believe her!! It's really rather athletic.

Step 1:
pick up the rubbish bin.

Step 2:
Stretch out arm straight in front of you.

Step 3:
(Now this is the important step)
With one arm you raise the bin to the required level. Following that with one large sweeping action you just sweep across the offending area eg: microwave and just sweep it straight into the bin.

Step 4:

Husband arrives home and say's "my you have been busy!" You bask in the glory and feel rather satisfied because you know the secret and when the family says "mum where is my ..." I will reply with a very sympathetic look "honey, I just don't know?"

Step 5:

Go to bed feeling very happy. Oh wait that LAUNDRY IS STILL IN MY ROOM!!!!!

For the laundry - do laundry party. Every person grabs a basket or bag and dives into the pile finding their clothes and taking them to put away. Another variation has them line up their basket and stand by it while mom throws clothes at the appropriate child. They catch and put it in their basket. When you run out of things to throw, they go put away what is in their basket. :)

Good luck with the decluttering - I love it, but hubby hates it.

I invited everyone to the laundry party but no one wanted to come. Maddie thought people were coming over and didn't want anyone to see her knickers at the laundry party. See is so cute!

Ohhhhh, that sweeping motion is sooooo tempting! lol I guess it would teach people pretty quickly to put their things away. Although I tried that years ago with hubby - I put the clothes he dumped on the floor in the outside rubbish bin. Needless to say, I only did it twice because I valued my life! lol (just kidding about the life part - but he was NOT happy!)
